2010 Lighthouse Challenge of New Jersey 11 of New Jerseys' lighthouses and select affiliated museums will host this weekend long event on Sat. & Sun. Oct 16th & 17th. The "Challenge" is to visit all of these historic sites in the 2 days allotted. Some of the lighthouses are not normally open to the public so this is a rare chance to see them. It is also a chance to help the state's grand beacons that are all struggling in these hard economic times. It should be a fun and exciting weekend especially because it's happening in the best month to be at the shore. Hereford will have some special guests including award winning lighthouse and nature photographer Skip Willits. We will also have sandwiches and soft drinks available for purchase so you can keep on the move without having to stop somewhere else to eat. Whatever lighthouse you chose to begin your challenge, a tri fold souvenir pamphlet will be available for purchase for $1.00.
